Thirty uplift and public utility projects that will greatly benefit thousands of families have recently been completed and handed over to communities in Khost province.

A press release issued by the National Solidarity Programme of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said that the projects comprise the grading and gravelling of a rural road 13,320 meters in length, extension of 10,620-meter irrigation water supply networks, construction of eight social buildings, a 1,145-meter retaining wall, an irrigation water collection point, a 5-meter water-intake, five diesel-powered mills and establishment of a number of vocational courses for women.

The report adds that the projects were completed in Matoon, Tanai, Zazi Maidan, Gurbuz and Nadir Shahkot districts of Khost province at a sum of AFN 26,866,000 including 10 percent community contribution. The projects will help approximately 6,122 families in different villages get access to basic human needs.

It is worth mentioning that the work of hundreds of other NSP/MRRD development projects in various communities of Khost province is currently in progress.
