Among the main topics, the spotlight was focused on improvements of security along Ring Road and on the extension of Afghan National Army (ANA) presence in Farah Province where a new base is ready to be opened.

The periodical regional security meeting is an opportunity to have all the participants in charge of security in the western region around the table.

Major General Fausto Macor, RC-West commander, chaired the meeting. Other key leaders involved were: Maj. Gen. Behnam, Major General Robert Cone Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan commander, Major General El Haj Ak Rahmuddin, Afghan National Police commander, Colonel Rahmatullah Safi, Afghan Border Police commander, Abdusanat Khaydarov, United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan director in western region, and Colonel James Klingaman, Afghan Regional Security Integration Command – West commander.
