Re:        INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY AND INITIATIVE OF AWAKENED YOUTH IN KABUL

Date:     21 September 2008

Afghanistan is and always has been a member of the United Nations and wants to live in peace with other members and countries.

The situation in Afghanistan is known, but sadly we have to reiterate that for the last 30 years Afghanistan is implicated in the wars between East and West.  The Afghan people are still being manipulated, murdered, insulted and suffering  many deprivations.

The Afghan Cultural Association in the Netherlands (ACVN) impresses upon you that War is not a solution to the problems.

Awakened Youth in Kabul – Afghanistan has developed an initiative to arrange a peaceful demonstration in Kabul and all over the world.  The ACVN stands by this peaceful initiative.

We share their voice.  STOP KILLING THE AFGHAN NATION AND WE CALL 2010 IN THE NAME OF PACHA KHAN THE SYMBOL OF PEACE.

Pacha Khan (Abdul Qhafar Khan) is a well known Afghan Historian who protested against the colonisation of the United Kingdom in Afghanistan.  Not in the name of war but in the name of peace.  His philosophy is one of peace.

ACVN wants to translate his Philosophy of Peace into different languages to inform the rest of the world of the affinities of the Afghan nation and the philosophy of peace.

We invite all groups involved including the United Nations and we urge them to adopt the way of Pacha Khan and stop the war in his holy month of Ramadan and the International Day of Peace.

ACVN requests a cordial response from the United Nations to hear the Afghan voice and put the philosphy of peace into practice.

With thanks for your support
