Militancy eats Heritage in Swat
The Buddhist stupa at college colony, saidu sharif swat is a historical site like many other places in the valley of Gandahara Civilization.
This beautiful old archaeological site mainly consists of two portions. The one being dominated with the main stupa surrounded by monuments and the second having the monastery.
It is the biggest site of Buddhist period in the valley and is now at the verge of obliteration because of being used as a cricket playground.
The main stupa and many small stupas around it have been damaged. It is feared, if this state of affairs continues, the valley will lose its precious asset and symbol of its civilianize past.
The conscious community of the valley has urged the concerned authorities and the civilized world to notice this cruel happening.
