Two ISAF and one civilian helicopter conducted safety…

Two ISAF and one civilian helicopter conducted safety landings due to weather conditions


KABUL, Afghanistan (Feb. 22) – Yesterday, 21 Feb, at about 1615 hours, two ISAF UH-60 helicopters flying from Jalabad to Bagram conducted a safety landing about twenty kilometres out of Bagram airfield due to encountering severe weather conditions and limited visibility. 


Both aircraft landed safely on an open field. No injuries with the crew and passengers and no damages to the aircraft were reported. The area was cordoned and both aircraft guarded by crew personnel, Afghan National Police and an ISAF Quick Reaction Force during the night. 


Today, at 0955 hours both helicopters took off and returned to their operational home-base to Bagram airfield. 


Again yesterday, at about 1730 hours, one Bell 212 civil operated helicopter conducted a safety landing about 100 m off a highway, in the Wardak province. No injuries were reported. An ISAF Task Force was sent to the spot and with the support of Afghan National Army elements provided security around the aircraft. At 0630 hours this morning, the helicopter took off and proceeded to its original destination.
