Background:
Pajhwok Afghan News (PAN), headquartered in Kabul, is Afghanistan‘s premier news agency releasing hard news stories, insightful comments and incisive analysis in three languages – English, Pashto and Dari. The news agency requires the services of Marketing Manager for its Marketing Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Develops and implements marketing strategic plan according to timeline
– Plans marketing budgets and monitors spending
– Develops and maintains Pajhwok brand
– Maintains Pajhwok’s subscription programmes and rates
– Identifies and seeks new clients in corporate, international and NGO sectors
– Maintains relationships with clients through regular contact – visits, client surveys etc.
– Seeks regular feedback from clients on editorial content and Pajhwok services
– Liaises regularly with editorial staff to develop sales opportunities
– Maintains database of subscribers and tracks subscriptions/replies to new subscribers
– Updates and maintains marketing material
– Advises Pajhwok Executive Director on strategies for grant funding
Qualification and Experience:
– University Degree in Marketing or related field
– Three to five year work experience of Marketing
– Must have excellent writing skills
– Ability to speak and write English, Pashto and Dari
– Proficiency in computer knowledge
– Ability to work independently and for long hours, if required
– Ability to work as a team member
