Good News:Afghanistan hearings before U.S. senate

 Introduced by :
Dr. Rahmat Rabi Zirakyar, Independent Scholar, USA

Due to your support of Brave New Foundation’s efforts, there will be Afghanistan hearings before U.S. Senate. But what is in it for Pashtuns?
The heroic poet-philosopher and leader Khoshal Khatak (1613-1690) said about the relevance of his people for the Afghan history,
The very name Pashtun spells honor and glory,
Lacking that honor, what is the Afghan story?

Ahmad Shah was “Baba” ( founding”father”) of Afghanistan (1722-1772). He was an outstanding general, keen observer, and democratic leader. He was elected king by “loya jirga” (Grand Assembly), the backbone of Pashtun political culture. Ahmad Shah Baba assumed the honorary title “Dur-e Dauran” (Pearl of the Age) and/or “Dur-e Duran” (Pearl of the Pearls). Dur-e Duran is the Afghan version of the principle “primus inter pares” (first among equals). His superb couplets signify the association his people have with with Pashtunkhwa (Pashtun region) and illustrate his love for his country:

I forget the throne of Delhi when I recall,
The mountain peaks of my beautiful Pashtunkhwa
If I must choose between the world and you,
I shall not hesitate to claim your barren deserts as my own.

Pashtuns are the world champions in resisting foreign powers and they are fanatic in defence of their beliefs and independence. Pakistan is “the most dangerous country in the world today.” Created by the British colonialism in 1901, the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) is at war with Pakistan. The United States of America and the NATO are trying to create a Pashtun-proof society on both sides of the wretched colonial “Durand Line” of 1893.

In all cries for regional security and stability, what is in it for Pashtuns who were divided by the British colonialism and are suffering now more than ever before from liberation imperialism. You must ask questions and submit them to Mr. Robert Greenwald info@bravenewfoundation.org

Get up and do something. Action, consistency and strategy are important tools of effective political participation and self-determination.
